What is a maintenance medication?
Maintenance medications are those that a doctor has prescribed for regular (i.e. daily) use, and include, but are not limited to, drugs for diabetes, cholesterol, asthma, high blood pressure, hormone therapy and birth control. Drugs needed for an emergency, such as an antibiotic or a painkiller, are called acute or “emergency medications”. Please contact your Plan administrator to get medication list.
Can MediTrust Pharmacy fill my emergency care prescriptions?
Yes, MediTrust Pharmacy provides emergency medications. However, if you need to take the medication immediately, you should go to your local pharmacy. Don't forget, MediTrust Pharmacy delivers your prescription to your door within 3 to 5 business days from receipt of your new prescription or authorization from your doctor.
What if I need to take my maintenance medication right away?
Ask your doctor for two prescriptions: one for a short-term supply and one for a 90-day supply. Have the short-term supply filled immediately at your local pharmacy, and send the 90-day supply prescription to MediTrust Pharmacy. Or, if you have an existing prescription, use the Transfer Prescription Form as part of you Online MediTrust Account or call 1-888-Rx-2-DOOR (1-888-792-3667) to have us transfer your prescription to MediTrust Pharmacy. Remember, it will take 3 to 5 business days to have your prescription delivered to you.
Can I order a narcotic prescription from MediTrust Pharmacy?
Yes, you can. However, by law, we must obtain a signature upon delivery. We must receive an original, written prescription from your doctor either faxed by your doctor’s office or mailed in by you.
How does my prescription get to MediTrust Pharmacy?
Your original or new prescriptions can be mailed to MediTrust Pharmacy (to the location which services your province) along with the New Prescription Form that you can complete and print from your Online MediTrust Account. For faster service, your prescription may be telephoned or faxed by your doctor’s office to 1-800-561-DRMD (1-800-561-3763) or fax to 1-800-563-8934.
How do I pay MediTrust Pharmacy?
We accept all major drug plans. If you have a deductible or co-payment, do not have insurance, or wish to order any non-prescription items from MediTrust Pharmacy, we accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express. If you do not have a credit card, please call us to discuss other payment options.
Can I transfer my prescription from another pharmacy to MediTrust Pharmacy?
Yes. Transferring your prescriptions to MediTrust Pharmacy is fast and easy. You can use our on-line Prescription Transfer Request from your Online MediTrust Account or call us at 1-888-Rx-2-DOOR (1-888-792-3667), and let us take care of the rest. We will be happy to transfer your prescriptions to MediTrust Pharmacy.
What happens if I am not available to accept the delivery?
In order to safeguard your medication(s) and to comply with provincial regulations, a signature is required upon receipt of your unmarked, tamper-resistant package (please note that children under the age of 18 cannot accept delivery of a package). If no one is available to accept the package, a delivery notice card will be left to advise you that the item is available for pickup at your designated postal outlet. The item will be held at the post office for a total of 15 calendar days after which time it will be returned to us.

How do I to Add a New Prescription using my Online MediTrust Account?
Add a new prescription to be filled by our pharmacy by using your online account or having your doctor fax us your prescription.

How do I Refill a Prescription using my Online MediTrust Account?

Can I manage my family's prescriptions?
Dependents can be added and managed up to the age of 18. Once the child has turned 18, they will be required to create their own MediTrust account.
